Draper Aden considered shear velocity strength of Flexamat for this project. The DEQ permit reviewers required an analysis of shear velocity which was provided to both DEQ and Draper Aden. The owners of the landfill, Rockbridge County, and Draper Aden have been very happy with the performance thus far with Flexamat.

Riprap Replacement

Total Amount of Flexamat Used: 70,136 Square Feet

The purpose of using Flexamat at the Rockbridge County Landfill was for the roadside drainage channels. One of the rolls of Flexamat was coming off the cap and tying into the drainage ditch on the roadside. Flexamat was selected over riprap to lessen the impact of the ability to drive mowing equipment across the channels as well as the speed of installation according to Draper Aden.
