AES worked with WCS Consulting to form a Vegetation Management Plan from soil tests at the location during buildout of the 175MW renewable energy site. The Plan is a six page document that outlines seeding instructions, fertility guidelines and erosion control measures pursuant to the Virginia Erosion & Sediment Control Handbook. The panel array areas were drill seeded and the sediment ponds and buffer zones were hydroseeded. Turf Reinforcement Mats (TRM”s) were used in many of the inlet ditches flowing into basins, specifically NAG SC250. American Excelsior Double Net Curlex was used in several places for general E&S Control, as well as Filtrexx SiltSoxx. The perimeter Control was established using wire-backed silt fence. Sediment basins were hydroseeded according to the Vegetation management Plan using HydraSmarts’s “Acre in a Box” fertilizer and tackifier combination.
